Circus Tents
Simple film-making

Here's a still from my latest attempt at animation, which I'm four days and about 15 seconds into. I'm just pushing the blocks gently, and not trying to represent anything.
The interesting math-related, executive-function-type thinking for animation so far, is keeping track of the photos as I edit them before inserting into i-Movie. I'm building, photographing, editing, and assembling in i-Movie, about 10-15 pictures a day.
Is this fast for animation? I have no context to answer this, and I'm curious.

Research Report
Here's an example of a report on how plants travel, using the blocks to create illustrations.

Here's a piece based on a digital drawing by my husband, on the right. It is disassembled in the left-side photo, prior to being put away. Flags with shapes of tiles encourage children to carefully dissect the build, one element at a time. More math can be done at this stage, depending on the age of the child - anything from counting how many colors were included, counting how many types of pieces were used, or estimating which type was used least, to calculating the percentage of any attribute (type of block or color, for example).
A Wholesome, Healthy Tale

Colored pencil and marker on page from Islamic Design Workbook by Eric Greig. Lighting is not up to par, so it's hard to see the grey lines, which are a pattern from the Middle East and Turkey, a wooden mihrab from the shrine of Sayyida Ruquyya, Cairo, Egypt (1133).
The lighting fail has put the animated block movie of this story on pause, but one photo is below.
